Family-run Mililani haunted house returns with new scares

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Nakamura Haunted House in Mililani is back for the Halloween season.

The family-founded attraction started in 1997. The Nakamura crew has been setting up since Labor Day with the help of friends and family.

Ian Nakamura, a builder for the haunted house said visitors can expect a handful of surprises and new scares.

“A lot of stuff we brought out, we didn’t use last year,” Nakamura said. " ... Come down, have fun. It’s free.”

The haunted house on Hokuili Street is open Friday and Saturday night from 6 to 9:30 p.m., as well as next Friday, Oct. 30 and on Halloween.
