A man is hospitalized after a shooting at the Plantation Motor Inn in Lafayette, just days after a judge ordered the motel to close over high crime rates. Officers were called to the motel after reports of a shooting on Saturday, Oct. 17, around 7 p.m., according to Sr. Cpl. Tyler Mitcham with the Lafayette Police Department. When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot. The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he is listed in stable condition, Mitcham said.
