Paia Elementary School students to return to campus

PAIA (HawaiiNewsNow) - Paia Elementary School is set to return to in-person learning starting Wednesday.

The Hawaii Department of Education (HIDOE) had kept Paia Elementary School closed through Oct. 14.

The announcement comes more than two weeks after a nearby brush fire that broke out on Tuesday, Sept. 23.

The school was closed following the fire in an effort to clean up harmful residue.

HIDOE said environmental clean-up efforts on campus are completed, and environmental testing has been completed.
