Kiko weakens into a remnant low north of Hawaii

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -Kiko is no longer a tropical cyclone as it has weakened into a remnant low pressure area north of Hawaii.

The Central Pacific Hurricane Center’s last advisory issued at 5 a.m. said Kiko’s remnants were located aboug 110 miles north of Honolulu.

The post-tropical cyclone was moving west at 12 miles per hour. It had winds near 35 miles per hour with higher gusts.

Moisture and light southeast winds associated with the system may cause some locally heavy showers Wednesday.

More typical trade wind conditions are expected to return Thursday and continue into at least the beginning of the coming week.
