HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Track work is set to begin Monday along the second segment of the rail guideway, between the Aloha Stadium Station and the future Middle Street Station, the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation announced Friday.

Track work involves the cleaning and grinding of the rails. HART says it’s a necessary step before rail tests can begin.

The work is expected to take about a week, with work hours taking place daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Areas surrounding the rail guideline may notice some extra noise and intermittent rolling single-lane road closures may be needed, officials said.

HART says there should be no impact on Skyline service that is already in operation.

Motorists are urged to look ahead, not overhead when driving near the work areas.
