Breezy trade winds continue today with showers favoring windward and mountain neighborhoods. Leeward beaches are your best bet for blue sky. High today in Honolulu will be about 84 degrees.
A potential wet trade wind pattern is on tap for this weekend. First, an upper level disturbance will enhance the showers coming in with the trades leading to some locally heavy showers between Friday afternoon and Saturday. Second, remnants of a front will settle over the islands Sunday providing the islands with some showery trades. A drier trade wind regime will return to most islands on Monday of next week.
Surf is big enough to maintain an advisory out in the country. NWS forecast for today calls for 10-15 feet north, 8-12 feet west, 5-7 feet east, 1-3 feet south.
