A cold front near the Big Island of Hawaii will spread clouds and showers over much of the state. Most of the showers will begin to favor windward and mauka areas as trade winds start to build behind the front. Clouds associated with the front should start clearing the island chain later in the day, with drier trade wind weather to follow.
a HIGH SURF WARNING remains posted for north and west shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu and Molokai and north shores of Maui. Waves are forecast to reach 20-30 feet for north shores and 12-20 feet for west shores. Waves are expected to fall to advisory levels Sunday.
