Suspect wanted for vandalism at Big Island cemetery

PAHOA, BIG ISLAND (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Big Island police are searching for whoever is responsible for vandalizing a Japanese cemetery on Kapoho Lighthouse Road.

A caretaker at the Kapoho Zairyumin Kai cemetery discovered on April 21 that several grave monuments and concrete vase holders were either damaged or tampered with. The damage occurred sometime between April 10 and April 21.

The preliminary damage estimate is approximately $4,200.
