HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A water main break in upper Pupukea has shut down a stretch of Pupukea Road and left some residents without water service, according to the Honolulu Board of Water Supply.

BWS said crews are repairing a 12-inch main break near 59-443 Pupukea Road, between Alapio Road and Aukauka Road. In a 10:15 a.m. update, the agency said it is setting up a water system bypass to reduce the number of customers without service from about 300 to two.

For customers currently without water, BWS has set up a water wagon across from 59-434 Pupukea Road. Customers are asked to bring their own containers to fill.

Motorists are also advised that Pupukea Road is closed in both directions between Alapio Road and Aukauka Road while crews make repairs. Drivers are urged to avoid the area and expect delays.

This BWS alert was issued at 10:29 a.m. Monday.
