Healthcare education scholarships available for AlohaCare members
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Students pursuing careers in medicine and social work throughout Hawaii can apply for scholarships of up to $10,000 through the AlohaCare Foundation.
The scholarships are open to any AlohaCare member and their immediate family members who are enrolled in a healthcare or social care educational program. The AlohaCare Foundation is accepting applications through March 16.
Organizers say the funding supports students interested in healthcare, helps build a local workforce in communities and creates a pathway for local students to higher education and beyond.
The AlohaCare Foundation gives health and wellness support financially to communities through collaborations with organizations with similar missions. It has initiated multiple grants supporting communities since 1994, including Access to Care, later developing to Wai Wai Ola grants. In 2022, it established its giving program, Imua Loa, pledging $1 million annually through charitable funding.
