Cayetano Endorses Clayton Hee For Lt. Gov

(Honolulu-AP) -- Governor Cayetano says he endorses Office of Hawaiian Affairs trustee Clayton Hee for lieutenant governor. Cayetano told the Honolulu Star-Bulletin that "the one who brings the most to the table is Clayton Hee."

The governor says Hee, who is part-Hawaiian, would be an attractive candidate for Hawaiian voters. Cayetano says the Democrats need to find a way to attract Hawaiian voters this fall.

Hee and Cayetano served together in the Senate and are friends.

Senator Ron Menor, school board member Donna Ikeda and Honolulu City Councilman Jon Yoshimura have also said they wanted to run for lieutenant governor as Democrats.
