Former Kahuku football player Kona Schwenke dead at 25

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Tonight, we say aloha to a former Kahuku Red Raider who passed away earlier today.

Kona Schwenke, 25, played as a defensive lineman for Kahuku and went on to play for the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. The cause of Schwenke's death remains unknown.

Schwenke was a practice squad player for multiple teams such as the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots before participating in The Spring League, which is a pro football scouting event and showcase.
