Flames damaged an 80-foot fishing boat at Pier 38 on Thursday, and sent billows of smoke into the air.
The fire started about 1:53 p.m. in the forward half of the vessel,
Firefighters and Coast Guard personnel used fire suppressant to contain the fire.
It was brought under control at 3:47 p.m.
Five men were on board the long-line fishing boat when the fire started, and all were able to escape without injury.
The fishing boat was significantly damaged, but it is not taking on water.
The cause of the fire and damage estimate is not available at this time.
