Kahaluu man charged in fatal stabbing

KANEOHE, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A 47-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of a Kaneohe man.

Police said Bryan Lucrecio's bail has been set at $500,000.

Lucrecio, of Kahaluu, is believed to be the victim’s brother-in-law. The Honolulu Medical Examiner's office identified the victim as 55-year-old Darryl Tomita. His cause of death was not released.

The stabbing happened on Waikapoki Road around 5:40 p.m. The victim was taken to the Castle Medical Center in extremely critical condition, where he later died.

Police said Lucrecio initially fled the scene, but officers later found him along Kamehameha Highway.
