KALIHI (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Honolulu police raided a suspected illegal game room in Kalihi on Monday.

The raid happened at a location on Moowaa Street around 2:20 p.m.

A woman (who wants to remain anonymous) said she was "playing on a machine" when police arrived.

"They just said, 'Put up your hands,'" she said. "I already know when they say that, it's Vice and the police."

Police said they confiscated 12 gambling devices and an undisclosed amount of cash. They said the gambling search warrant was executed following community complaints.

The establishment is tucked away in the heart of an industrial neighborhood and a photo ID is required for entry. Some tenants in the lot said there are bouncers guarding the door at all times.

The anonymous customer said she and her friends play there often and she doesn't believe they did anything wrong.

"It's enjoyable. I love it. I love to play and I bring a few dollars and I play. And if I lose I go home and if I win I stay," she said.

People who showed up after police left said the room is completely empty.

The customer said she had fun while it lasted.

"If I have to pay a fine, that's fine. They do what they have to do and I had a lot of fun."

No arrests have been made.

Police said anonymous tips about illegal gambling and drugs can be made 24 hours a day at 723-3933.
