HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - This weekend will have plenty of sunshine and just a few periods of showers. The trade winds will be light to moderate. Very pleasant weather through Monday. Then, a dramatic change.

An area of low pressure approaching from our southwest will turn winds southerly. It will get sticky outside. And then the rain will start, probably Monday night. Tuesday, Wednesday, and perhaps Thursday will likely see heavy showers, even thunderstorms. Rainfall rates could approach 2″ per hour. Flooding will be a possibility.

If you work or live in an area susceptible to flooding, take precautions now.

Both town and country surf will get a boost on Saturday and maintain fun-sized waves through the weekend.
