First Alert Forecast: Heavy rain, potential flooding Monday, Tuesday
Very wet weather possible next week
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The trade winds continue to ease as we get deeper into the work week. We will settle into a pattern of light to moderate trades with plentiful sunshine and just a few passing showers through the weekend.
Big changes are possible when we start the new week. There is strong potential for a low pressure system to form about 1,300 miles to our southwest and slowly draw closer. As it does, it will pull up very moist tropic air from the south and create the possibility for heavy showers across the state. The slow movement of the low and the intensity of the showers could combine to cause flash flooding. We’re anticipating that Monday and Tuesday will be First Alert Weather days. Stay with us on-air, online, and on your mobile device for the very latest.
