First Alert Forecast: Light winds and showers for Sunday
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Skies will be cloudy with a chance of light showers through Sunday night with light winds, generally from the south-southeast.
Trade winds should return Monday into Monday night and could become quite breezy midweek with drier conditions.
Winds are expected to turn from the southeast again around Thursday as a weak upper low moves in from the west, but forecast models disagree on whether it will be strong enough to push a shower boundary into the area next Friday and Saturday.
At the beach, a small west-northwest swell is bring waves as high as 7 to 8 feet for north showers and 3 to 5 footers for west shores. East shore surf will rise to about 4 to 6 feet from a gale low to the northeast. South shore surf will remain flat to 2 feet.
