In this episode of Where Hawaii Eats, I head to Hanapepe, Kauai’s biggest little town to Unko’s Kitchen, a popular eatery known for their local comfort foods, owner/chef Manny Cabral, aka Unko, and I talk story while trying their famous Hunter’s Special, fried saimin combo and Kaula taco salad in their 72 year old historical landmark building. Then we head to Kauai Chocolate Company, home of the Chocolate Opihi, we meet with the owner Patrick Greer shows me how to make the famous chocolates and sample homemade ice cream made fresh right here at the chocolate factory.
