More than 30 mystery novels by Agatha Christie have been turned into movies. The most recent, DEATH ON THE NILE, is in theaters right now. Kenneth Branagh directs and also stars as the fastidious Belgian detective Hercule Poirot in this film, a glamorous and very entertaining murder mystery that boasts a cast of ten intriguing suspects that include Armie Hammer, Emma Mackey, Annette Benning, Russell Brand and more. The film also offers gorgeous cinematography, lavish costumes plus lots of suspense and thwarted romance. It’s set mainly on a luxury steamer full of people celebrating the marriage of a very rich woman played by Gal Gado. After the first murder takes place, Poirot discovers that every one of the guests has a secret and a motive and they are all outraged by his questioning. But soon there are more murders and the large number of suspects make it hard to keep track of their stories. If you’re a bit of detective yourself, you might figure it out. I didn’t. DEATH ON THE NILE is first rate entertainment. (Only in Theaters)
