When the Academy Awards nominations are announced of February 8th, Nicole Kidman will be among the five best actress nominees for her performance in BEING THE RICARDOS. Kidman has already won this year’s Golden Globe award for Best Actress which makes her the front runner in the Oscar race for her fine performance as Lucy in this really enjoyable film that tells the behind-the-scenes story of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, the married couple who starred in I LOVE LUCY, the wildly popular sitcom from the early 1950’s. BEING THE RICARDOS is a very entertaining movie even if you’ve never a single episode of the sitcom that regularly drew an audience of 60 million. The talented Aaron Sorkin wrote and directed this excellent film based on 3 real life crises that actually happened during the run of the TV show. (Only on Amazon Prime)
