Terry Hunter reviews YES, GOD, YES and I USED TO GO HERE

Hollywood is releasing an ever increasing number of new movies directed by women and starring women. In addition to THE OLD GUARD which has been out for a few weeks now, this week there are two coming of age comedy-dramas worth seeing. In YES, GOD, YES a 16-year-old Catholic girl (Natalie Dye) in the year 2001 learns that her teachers aren’t practicing what they preach about sex. And in I USED TO GO HERE, a 35-year-old writer (Gillian Jacobs) realizes that she still has a lot of growing up to do when she visits her alma mater to give a reading. Both films are entertaining, but YES, GOD, YES will offend strict Catholics. (These two films are streaming on Amazon Prime and Vudu for $6.99. It's also available on-demand at cable companies.)
