Back to a more typical trade wind pattern for the next couple of days

Expect changing weather conditions over the next seven days as the movement of large scale pressure systems bring changes to weather impacts across the state. Initially the low pressure system that brought widespread rain and flooding to the state of Hawaii continues to drift northward away from the region. An upper level ridge building in as this low departs will bring decreasing shower trends with lighter rainfall amounts in most areas through Wednesday. While scattered to numerous showers remain in the forecast for windward and mountain areas in the overnight time periods, much lower rainfall coverage is forecast for leeward sections.
