A dissipating front west of Kauai will shift away from the islands as high pressure far to the northwest of the state approaches. This will allow trades to gradually increase over the next few days. The high will stall to our north Friday night and a backdoor cold front will reach the islands on Sunday. The combination of these two features will make for a windy weekend. Clouds will increase for the second half of the weekend and the front will bring showers Sunday, especially for windward and mauka areas. Trades will ease some early next week, but they may remain somewhat wet.
