Terry Hunter reviews LUCE

The new movie called LUCE is based on a dramatic play about a 17 year old black student who was rescued from an African war zone when he was just seven years old and then raised by white American parents. The film is an intense, provocative drama about this boy who becomes a model student. The complication is that one of his teachers suspects he may not be the perfect kid everyone else thinks he is. The script raises many questions but offers no definitive answers. On the other hand, the story is gripping, the dialogue is intense and the acting is powerful.
