Terry Hunter previews the Honolulu Rainbow Film Festival

The 30th annual Honolulu Rainbow Film Festival opens this coming Thursday at the Doris Duke Theatre in the Honolulu Museum. The LGBT film festival brings to town lots of good movies you aren’t likely to see anywhere else. This time around there will be 22 screenings with panel discussions to follow. There are 19 feature films and three short film programs. I was able to see one of the features, an emotional documentary which follows the San Francisco Gay Men’s choir on tour in the Deep South. Years earlier, several members of the choir had moved out of the south to escape discrimination. For festival schedule, info and tickets: https://honolulumuseum.org/events/films
