Terry Hunter reviews THE EDGE OF PARADISE (TAYLOR CAMP-1969-1977)

A strong locally made documentary called THE EDGE OF PARADISE tells the story of Taylor Camp, a tree house village on the north shore of Kauai, that thrived from 1969 -1977. The film is a nostalgic look back at Taylor Camp’s makeshift community of hippies, surfers, and Viet Nam veterans. The fascinating story is told mostly through great photographs shot during the 1970’s and present day interviews with more than two dozen former residents, many of whom see their time in the beachside camp as the best years of their lives. Written by John Wehrheim. Directed by Robert C. Stone. It showed at Hawaii Theater on Sunday, February 17. For more information, see the film’s website: https://www.theedgeofparadisefilm.com/
