Warriors wash away Idaho's chance for victory

Aloha Stadium (KHNL) - The University of Hawaii football team inched one step closer to qualifying for the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl with a convincing 49-17 victory over Idaho.

Warrior Quarterback, Greg Alexander passed for a career high 3 touchdowns and completed 14 of 24 passes for 264 yards. Wide Receiver, Malcolm Lane was on the receiving end of 4 of those passes, as he led the Warriors with 144 yards receiving.

The Warriors controlled the game with their quick-strike offense

and swarming defense that recorded seven sacks, four turnovers and

three interceptions.

The Vandals' defeat brought their season record to 2-10 and

their conference record to 1-6.

With the victory, Hawaii improves to 6-5 overall and 5-3 in the WAC. The Warriors will host Washington State next Saturday night at Aloha Stadium. Hawaii needs to win one of their final two games to qualify for the Hawaii Bowl.
