Firefighters return to Wailea fire

WAILEA, Maui (KHNL) -Maui County Firefighters are on the scene with seven fire engines, water tankers and Air One as they continue to battle a fire that started on Saturday, August 23.

So far the fire has burned an estimated 155 acres in Wailea.

The fire which flared up again Wednesday afternoon remains in kiawe- and brush-filled land on the mauka, mountain side of the highway.

Yesterday, the fire continued to smolder and was being monitored by fire personnel.

No structures are in danger and all roads in the vicinity remain open to traffic. Additional information will be provided when it becomes available.
