HONOLULU (KHNL) - In a closed session, Hawaii Tourism Authority board members discuss the future of HTA president and CEO Rex Johnson.

Johnson was found to have received adult oriented e-mails on his government account.  The investigation also found he sent those e-mails to friends.

Before the closed session dozens came to give testimony in support of Johnson.

"It is with my great hope that you will look at some form of reprimand," said Linda McCrory, Pahio Resort president.  "He wasn't the brightest but we still think he is a big asset to this organization and a great asset to the state. Changing that would not be in the best interest of the state."

There were a total of 55 written testimonies. Only three were asking for Johnson's resignation.  But the board is voting to decide whether or not they will ask him to resign.
