HONOLULU (KHNL) - Crews with the Honolulu Fire Department responded to a hazardous material spill near the airport.

Around 9:00 Monday morning, two gallons of pool cleaner containing hydrochloric acid spilled at the Forrest City Maintenance Warehouse.

Three employees were inside the warehouse when it happened.

"We want to make sure it doesn't travel and effect other materials containers and cause a reaction so were going to mitigate it by absorbing it with some appropriate absorbents and then well turn the scene back over to Forrest City," said Captain Terry Seelig of the Honolulu Fire Department.

One employee had difficulty breathing from exposure to the fumes but refused medical attention.
