Oahu minister accused of rape appears in court

HONOLULU (KHNL) - He's an Oahu minister, accused of raping a young girl in his congregation, for nearly a decade.

Monday, 56-year-old Manuel Taboada appeared in court for the first time.

He appeared before a judge via teleconferencing.

The Kaneohe pastor pleaded 'not guilty' to the charges.

Prosecutors say he allegedly sexually assaulted a girl over a period of eight years, starting when she was just 12-years-old.

The girl and her family attended his church.
