A wave of culture and tradition offered at Hanauma Bay

HANAUMA BAY (KHNL) - Coinciding with 2008's International Year of the Reef , the Hanauma Bay Education Program is offering a series of summer evening programs  at Hanauma Bay.

The program celebrates and explores the relationship of the Hawaiian culture and its tradition with the sea.

The events titled Lei Ko'a, Exploring the Reefs that Surround our Islands, will feature craft activities and cultural presentations on topics such as Hawaiian fish legends, fishing techniques and pono practices as well as ocean legends and traditions.

The summertime event will take place from June-September on the fourth Saturday of each month from 6pm-9pm.

All events will offer crafts and activities for the keiki in the Hanauma Bay Visitor Center
