Air Force Officials Investigate F-15 Crash off Hawaii

HICKAM AIR FORCE BASE (KHNL) - The Air Force is investigating last week's crash of a Hawaii Air National Guard F-15 fighter jet.

The jet crashed into the ocean off Oahu on Friday after it started losing altitude.

The pilot, identified as Lt. Col. Christopher Faurot, ejected safely from the plane before it fell to the sea.

Faurot was reported in good condition after the crash.

Pacific Air Forces says an interim safety investigation board has convened at Hickam Air Force Base to gather evidence.

The ISB will continue their investigation until officials from the Safety Investigation Board take over.

The Hawaii Air National Guard is expected to resume flying its F-15s later this week.
