HONOLULU (KHNL) - A Hawaii Eagle Scout is doing his part to help support Hawaii based troops serving in Iraq.

Francis Eyre organized a flag folding at American Legion Hall to help support American troops. Their aim was to fold 18-hundred flags. Eyre organized the event to earn the rank of Eagle Scout and to do his part to encourage troops serving in the war on terror.

"I'm helping someone in any way I can by just raising the troops morale and I'm just doing what I can," said Eyre.

Army Brigadeer General Gary Ishikawa dropped by to congratulate and thank the scouts and volunteers that turned out for the event.

The flags will be delivered to the 45th Sustainment Brigade in Iraq.
