NANAKULI, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Two people were seriously injured Monday afternoon in a vehicle crash in Nanakuli, Emergency Medical Service officials said.
The crash happened just before 2:30 p.m. Police said multiple vehicles were involved in the accident located near the Black Rock Beach Park area.
Police said it appeared a truck was heading westbound on Farrington Highway and may have crossed the center line and collided with at least two other vehicles heading east.
Three other people were listed in stable condition.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and treated the patients. Tow trucks also worked to clear the scene and reopen the highway.
Around 3:45 p.m., only one westbound lane of Farrington highway was reportedly open.
At this time, it is unclear if speed or alcohol were factors in the crash. Additional details are forthcoming.
