At Hawaii News Now we are proud of the effort and excellence we put into coverage of elections and the campaigns.
Last week we broadcast the first live debate between the top contenders for the Republican nomination for Governor. This week, we put on an extraordinary "Super Debate" featuring 13 candidates in democratic primaries for Governor, Lieutenant Governor and Congress.
We want to thank sponsors Kamehameha Schools and Office of Hawaiian Affairs whose students and beneficiaries also contributed challenging questions to the candidates.
These debates, which included all of the viable challengers for these important jobs, are available in full on our online platforms for voters to watch at their leisure.
Those digital platforms also include stories, interviews and other features with candidates in other races.
In this digital age it is easier than ever for voters to learn about the people seeking their vote and for the candidates to present their cases on their own websites and other digital forums.
In the next few weeks we encourage all voters and potential voters to take advantage of this new age of politics. Of course, we hope this high degree of access to candidate information will encourage you to pick up a ballot and make the right choice.
