5 long-time Honolulu firefighters promoted to Battalion Chiefs

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Honolulu Fire Department has welcomed five new Battalion Chiefs to the ranks after years of dedicated service.
At a promotion ceremony Thursday, Joseph Kostiha, Robert Thurston, David Morgan, Jarin Wong and Bryan Soares were promoted and honored.
All five men have been with the fire department for more than 20 years.
Koshita now represents the Planning and Development section while Soares works with the Surface Water Rescue and Rescue Watercraft Program. Wong has been assigned to the Fire Prevention Bureau, investigations and public information.
Battalion 5 2nd platoon is now under the command of Thurston, and the 3rd platoon by Morgan.
"The Honolulu Fire Department congratulates the five new Battalion Chiefs who were promoted in today's ceremony held at Hale Kinai Ahi Auditorium in HFD Headquarters," HFD said.
