'Bows outlast Cal State Fullerton in extra innings, 6-4

FULLERTON, CALIF. (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Rainbow Warrior baseball team is sitting pretty at the top of the Big West Conference after defeating Cal State Fullerton tonight on the road by a score of 6-4.

Hawaii (21-14, 7-4 BWC) was able to hold off the Titans in extra innings courtesy of a Dustin Demeter's two-run, 10th-inning triple to complete the 6-4 comeback.

With the win, the Titans (21-14, 7-4 BWC) and 'Bows are now 1-1 in this series going into tomorrow's rubber match.

Demeter was responsible for 4-of-6 Hawaii runs, going 2-for-4 with his second career four-RBI game.

Dylan Thomas earned the win after 1.2 innings of relief, striking out two with one hit. Freshman Cade Smith went 2.1 scoreless innings, allowing three hits and striking out four Batters.

Hawaii and Cal State Fullerton return to action for the series rubber match on Sunday at Goodwin Field. First pitch is set for 10:00 a.m. HT.
