Kauai residents get extension to file state tax returns

LIHUE, KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Kauai residents grappling with devastating floods and landslides are getting some tax relief.

The governor said Kauai residents will get an extension to file state tax returns due April 20.

They'll also be able to claim losses on their 2018 income tax returns.

Taxpayers requesting relief should clearly mark their tax returns ""2018 Kauai Flood Relief" at the top center of the tax return.
