HAWAII (HawaiiNewsNow) - An all woman-crew will be rowing from Hawaii to California this summer in the name of climate change.

Eliza Dawson, a recent graduate of the University of Washington, plans to embark on the 2,400 mile journey with three crew mates from the United Kingdom in June.

To make the trip, the four women will be rowing around the clock in two hour shifts. The group plans on using a 24-foot long boat.

Their goal is to set the new world record for fastest crossing by an all-female crew. They also want to use the trip as a way to bring attention to climate change and other environmental issues.
