Kapiolani Community College narrows search for chancellor to 3 finalists
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The search for Kapiolani Community College's next chancellor is narrowing.
On Wednesday, KCC announced Micheal Glisson, Louise Pagotto and Jeffery Thomas as the top three in line for the job.
Glisson and Pagotto both currently work at the college. Glisson serves at the vice chancellor for strategic initiatives, and Pagotto works as the school's interim chancellor.
Thomas comes from a current role as dean of academic affairs at the North Campus and West Hills Center of the Community Colleges of Allegheny County in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The finalists bring decades of higher education experience to the search which began in January.
In May 2016, Chancellor Leon Richards stepped down from the position after a no-confidence vote by the school body.
On April 6, the public is invited to meet the candidates at a public forum.
The forum will be held at Kapiolani Community College's Ohia Auditorium. The schedule is as followed:
- 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Jeffery Thomas
- 12:45 – 1:45 p.m., Micheal Glisson
- 2 – 3 p.m., Louise Pagotto
