KAPAA, KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) - The body of 25-year-old man who went missing while fishing in an area known as Dragon's Breath on Kauai has been recovered.

Authorities identified the man as Preston Ikehara-Yasay, of Kapaa.

His body was found off Kauai's North Shore about 2:30 p.m. Friday. His dad says members of Preston's hula halau found him.

Officials launched a search on Wednesday, after witnesses reported seeing the body of a man in waters off Kauapea Beach.

During the search, hundreds took to social media to express what a kind and caring man Ikehara-Yasay was.

Kauai Mayor Bernard Carvalho said, "Our hearts and deepest sympathy go out to the family and friends of Preston Ikehara-Yasay during this very difficult time. Although we cannot ease their pain, we are thankful that our rescue team was able to bring Preston home and provide some level of closure for his family."
