HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Hyperbaric Treatment Center at UH is back open after a nearly three month closure.
The facility, which provides treatment for divers suffering from decompression sickness or the "bends," shut down in October because of a doctor shortage.
Since then, nine physicians have been recruited.
The center opened Jan. 15, at least a month ahead of schedule.
A spokesman says there is still more work to do.
The facility is expected to begin a $1.5 million upgrade this year.
