An approaching cold front has turned our winds light and southeasterly. A few showers are flowing into windward and east-side communities. For most of the state, most of the day, skies will be partly to mostly sunny.

High in Honolulu is forecast to be 81 degrees.

Different weather for Kauai and Niihau. That cold front is just to the west of those islands and it has some significant shower activity. The front is forecast to fall apart by this afternoon. But Kauai and Niihau will likely get some of that rain before the front dissipates.

Surf is building with a new northwest swell. An advisory has been posted for most north and west shores. If the waves continue to build tonight and Thursday as forecast, a warning is possible. An even bigger swell is expected over the weekend.

Today's waves on Oahu will be 12-16 feet north, 8-12 feet west, 3-5 feet east, 1-3 feet south.

High Surf Advisory for north and west shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, and Molokai. North shores only for Maui.

Small Craft Advisory for all Kauai County waters, Oahu and Maui County windward waters, along with the Kaiwi Channel.
