Former HPD officer once accused of domestic abuse, cited again

KAPOLEI, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Former veteran Honolulu Police officer Darren Cachola had a run in with the law again early Sunday morning.
Sources say his wife called 911 around 3 a.m. and reported Cachola was choking her.
But when police arrived to their Kapolei home, she insisted she was not hurt.
According to sources, officers noticed red marks around her neck and issued a warning for Cachola to stay away from his wife and the home for 48 hours. He was not arrested.
Cachola was fired from the police department in 2015 after he was caught on camera fighting with his then-girlfriend at Kuni's restaurant in Waipahu.
He was never arrested or charged for the fight.
