Hundreds of box jellyfish wash ashore in Kailua

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A massive box jellyfish invasion brought hundreds of the creatures into Kailua beach Thursday.

Lifeguards counted as many as 400 jellyfish, and at least four people reported getting stung.

Meanwhile, 21 stings were reported in Waikiki, and 34 stings were reported at Ala Moana.

Signs were posted at the beach.

This month's box jellyfish invasion is set to run through Friday.
