HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Board of Water supply is advising residents to be on alert about impostors.

BWS officials says crooks are posing as employees to try and enter customers' homes.

A Kaimuki family recently reported two men requesting to check water quality due to an alleged water main break. The men were in safety vests and appeared official, however they did not possess the proper BWS credentials.

BWS officials always carry credentials, wear proper gear and travel in officially marked cars.

Anyone who encounters a suspected impostor is advised to call 911.
