HAWAII KAI, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police are investigating an early-morning armed robbery at a popular Hawaii Kai eatery.
The incident happened at The Shack Hawaii Kai around 1:15 a.m., when employees were closing up. Officials said two suspects entered the business through the back and told employees to get on the ground. One of the suspects told the female employee to open the cash register.
The suspects got away with an undisclosed amount of money.
Police believe three suspects on motorcycles were involved. Two people were detained at the scene. Another person fled on Kalanianaole Highway.
This incident is just one of a series of armed robberies across Oahu. Last week, a 7-11 in Kakaako was held up. In a separate case, an armed robber targeted a Chevron gas station in Mapunapuna over the weekend.
