KANEOHE, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Former Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle will be returning to the islands.
The Hawaii GOP tweeted Lingle will be the guest speaker at a pre-inaugural presidential gala, celebrating the election of Donald Trump.
The event will be held Jan. 4 at the Koolau Ballrooms in Kaneohe.
Most recently, Lingle was chief operating officer for Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner, but she resigned earlier this year as the state struggled with budget issues.
Lingle served as Hawaii's first female governor from 2002 to 2010.
